AMAÇ: Travmatik pankreas yaralanması nedeniyle ameliyat edilen hastalardaki morbidite ve mortalite ve bunlara etkili faktörler incelendi. GEREÇ-YÖNTEM: 1996-2004 tarihleri arasında travmatik pankreas yaralanması nedeniyle kliniğimizde ameliyat edilen 13 hasta (13 erkek; ort. yaş 35,3; dağılım 20-60) geriye dönük olarak incelendi. BULGULAR: On olguda penetran, üç olguda künt yaralanma mevcuttu. Olgularda yaralanmadan ameliyata kadar geçen süre ortalama 5,8 (1-48) saat idi. Mortalite üç olguda (%23) görüldü. Hayatını kaybeden iki olguda büyük damar yaralanması mevcuttu. Ameliyat sonrası en sık görülen komplikasyon plevral efüzyon idi, iki hastada (%15) görüldü. SONUÇ: Morbidite ve mortalite büyük oranda yaralanmaya eşlik eden yandaş organ yaralanması varlığıyla ilişkili bulundu.

METHODS: We studied retrospectively 13 patients (13 males; mean age 35.3; range 20 to 60 years) with pancreatic trauma who were to our emergency unit between 1996-2004. RESULTS: Ten patients had penetrating and three had blunt trauma. The avarage time between the admission to the emergency unit and the operation was 5.8 hours (1-48 hours). Mortality was 23% (three patients; two of them had major vascular injuries). The most prominent postoperative complication was pleural effusion which was seen in two patients (15%). CONCLUSION: It was recorded that mortality and morbidity were related in great part to the associated organ injury.
